CODE OF CONDUCT

The Detroit Pistons aim to create impactful, memorable, and positive experiences on and off the court that generate passion and love for the game of basketball. In order to create those experiences, it is important to create and maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all of our participants and guests. As a result, all of our participants and guests must agree to adhere to the rules and policies stated below.

By participating in this event, each participant agrees to the following:

·         They will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, player, participant, or guest.

·         They will not engage in any behavior which would endanger the health, safety or well-being of any coach, player, participant, or guest.

·         They will not use disrespectful language.

·         They will treat each coach, player, participant, or guest with respect regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, or ability.

·         They will not engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any coach, player, participant, or guest.

·         They will not engage in bullying of any kind directed at any coach, player, participant, or guest.

It is the policy of The Pistons that any conduct that is disruptive and/or disrespectful to others will not be tolerated. We require ALL participants to be honest, fair, and respectful to others at all times. ANY violation of this Code of Conduct by any participant, without regard to its subject matter or motivating nature, will result in expulsion from the program with NO REFUND when applicable. It is also important to note that any retaliation or FALSE accusations will also result in expulsion from the program with NO REFUND.

The Pistons will handle such behavior with the highest possible level of confidentially for the offender and the offended. A Pistons representative will be responsible for reporting the incident to the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of those involved on the day of the incident. Restorative preventative practices will always be considered and implemented that emphasize repairing the harm to those impacted.

Ultimately, we aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment and to teach our youth to be better citizens of the community. Thank you for your understanding of these policies and for helping us ensure that they are followed.
